Ultimate Makeup Tips for Festivals This Summer

If you are planning on attending some festivals this summer – you are definitely at the right place! Such events can be a real challenge when talking about makeup, since there are many factors that can affect it. However, carrying a huge makeup bag for a touch-up is definitely not an option. Stay with us and find out how to nail your beauty routine for an upcoming festival season – here are five tips for you. Enjoy!

Don’t stick to a skincare routine no matter what

Even though a proper skincare routine is crucial, you should not stick to it no matter what, especially during summer. This is particularly true for your moisturiser. You don’t have to apply it all over your face, day after day – instead, you can use it only on particular spots that feel dry or flaky. This is important because overusing may clog your pores and therefore cause acne breakouts and irritation. That is not what you want this summer, right?

Light and dewy base is essential

Festivals require an updated beauty routine which starts with a light base. It is crucial since it provides a necessary dose of luminosity which is, let’s face it, obligatory when it comes to summer fun. Ditch the foundation that will make your face look cakey and use tinted moisturiser instead – its creamy formula will provide good coverage, but it will feel much lighter on your skin. Pick the one with SPF, and you will be good to go! Trust us, with an appropriate base, no one will be able to tell that you had a sleepless night.

Killer lashes are a must

The season of sunshine, tanning, and festivals is definitely incomplete without a pair of killer lashes, so bear that in mind when deciding on your perfect makeup look. Even though waterproof mascara is expected to be at the top of your list of must-haves, we have another suggestion. Choose a silicone-based one which won’t run or smudge, and you will have no problems wiping it away – an oil-based remover will do the trick. On the other hand, regular waterproof mascara is awfully difficult to remove, while it can still run. The choice is pretty much straight forward here, isn’t it?

Shimmer on fleek

Shimmer is an absolute must when it comes to festival season, simply because it adds a touch of glamour and enhances that spectacular summer vibe even more. Add some sparkle to your regular makeup routine by applying it all over your lids – that will surely make your eyes look much bigger and wide open, especially if you use some bright shades such as champagne or even white. On the other hand, if you want to achieve an ultimate festival look, double it up as a highlighter on your cheeks. You will shine bright like a diamond, girl!

Keep lips low-maintenance

Last but not least, your lips need to be taken care of, too. Keeping them low-maintenance is definitely a good way to go, and since mineral makeup is on the rise these days, we highly recommend using one such lipstick in your favourite shade that will complete your top-notch festival look. Youngblood makeup offers a bunch of gorgeous shades that are ultra-pigmented, which means that you won’t have to reapply it in hours. On the other hand, if you are not a fan of lipsticks, you can always choose a lip gloss or a lip balm with SPF. You won’t even need a mirror to apply them!

That’s all, folks! Seriously, these five steps are essential when talking about an ultimate festival makeup look, and you won’t need anything else in order to look fabulous this season. Just remember that everything is about having fun and enjoying the life, and you will certainly have a blast this summer!

Thank you so much to Zara for Guest Posting for me, her tips are great and even though I'm the kind of person who watched T in the Park at home, I'll bear these in mind and share with everyone!
